East Lothian Council are holding an inter-school debating competition this month. We need two debaters, and lots of supporters to cheer us on!

 

Tickets are up for grabs so for details on how to apply or to support, click here and then see Miss Sumerling. Make your interest known by the end of this week (Friday 7th March) as the competition is coming up soon!

 

*Forms and a sign-up sheet are now posted to the door of the English Base – everything you need is there!

The French Department has been working hard to update their section of the school website in order to make it as useful as possible for pupils and parents. Please have a good look around as there is a lot of new additions to all sections.

The French Department will be running revision sessions for all S4 pupils. Each week will be dedicated to a different section of the exam. Please click on the following link to watch a motivational video for the sessions.

Pupils, parents and staff gathered at Knox Academy on Thursday 23 January 2014 to enjoy another sell-out Family Burns’ Supper.  Ably compered by Mr Swinney, (Communications Faculty Head), the evening saw contributions including traditional toasts and poems, highland dancing and futuristic animation (Tam O’Shanter in Lego), with wonderful musical interludes provided by pipers, choir and musicians.

The Address to the Haggis was delivered by Mr Illingworth (Depute Head Teacher).  Head Boy Mark Robertson’s Toast to the Lassies was most capably responded to by Head Girl Gemma Sandie, while a most thoughtful and entertaining Immortal Memory given by Head Teacher Mrs Ingham was very well received.

A great night was had by all.
