August 2010

At the end of the first full week for pupils, the school is (almost) back to the normal routine. Some timetable problems are still being ironed out and one or two seniors are still undecided about courses. However, in the main, it is ‘business as usual’.

At this week’s assemblies, the theme was ‘we are all in this together’, it is our school and we all have a part to play in its success. Given the financial constraints facing all aspects of our lives, I have asked the pupils to use resources carefully, for example, not to waste paper or lose text books. I am sure by working together we can have a successful and enjoyable year.

During the S5/6 assembly it was a great pleasure to share the summary of the examination results with the pupils. These results provide the pupils with an excellent basis for continued success.

The S1 pupils are settling in well and, thanks to the S6 ‘buddies’, very few have become lost when moving around the school.

Best wishes.

I hope everyone has had a peaceful and enjoyable summer. The term started on Monday 16 and, following 3 days of staff in-service, the pupils resumed school on Thursday 19 August. As always it has been a great pleasure to welcome the pupils back and to meet the new S1.

The examination results for last session’s S4-6 are very pleasing and details will be available in the ‘Knox News’ and on the website in due course. Congratulations to all the candidates and best wishes to those who have moved on to pastures new. These results provide the pupils who have moved into S5 and S6 with an excellent basis for continued success.

Best wishes to all members of the school community for the new session.
