The sun is shining as light floods into this Victorian building with its tall windows and south facing aspect and it is lovely to hear the shouts and squeals from children filing past Meadowpark on their way home from the Haddington Campus, safe in the knowledge that a week of lazy days and free choice will begin for half term.Read more here...Meadowpark Newsletter 09.02.18

There only seemed to be one thing on everyone’s mind this week and that was the emergence of the Super Blue Blood Moon. As Classes 1 and 2 have chosen Space and Planets for IDL theme this was an exciting opportunity to further explore the connections between the sun, earth and moon (CfE SCN 0-06a –SCN 2-06a) and the link between daily, monthly and annual patterns of life. We’ve had a period of change and reflection in Meadowpark this week. The weather brought about a certain amount of change, but didn’t succeed in preventing us from being out and about, especially with our new delivery of pallets, wooden tile crates and rubble sacks. There was an element of disappointment on Tuesday and Wednesday that Haddington wasn’t the ‘beneficiary’ of a heavy snow fall. I had visions of our pupils making snow men, discussing the myriad snowflake patterns, recognising that no two snowflakes are the same, and exploring the impact of snow and ice on the environment.
