Lyons Davidson is a successful law firm employing over 1,200 people across the UK. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motor recovery Case Handler to join our Edinburgh city centre office.  Acting for large insurer clients, you will be assisting in the recovery of their outlay. Having established that a case is worth pursuing, you will then be responsible for seeking recovery against the negligent third party. This role specialises in litigation based motor recovery, non-personal injury work. 

Paralegal – Insurance Litigation: Motor Recoveries (GR03/EDI/OTM/1 – Paralegal)

Location: Edinburgh
Salary range: £14,000 - £17,500

You will be responsible for:

• Managing your own caseload of motor recoveries cases.
• Pursuing claims through pre- and post-litigation stages, making full use of our case management system.
• Complying fully with agreed service standards.
• Dealing with administrative procedures as required.
• Communicating fully with clients – including typing your own letters, emails and telephone calls.

Competencies

• Effective people skills (able to work well with colleagues, clients, etc.).
• The ability to prioritise your work.
• An organised approach to work.
• Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word).
• Effective numeracy and literacy skills.

Experience

The successful candidates must have a genuine interest in law, be PC literate, have excellent communication and organisation skills and be proactive. You will be a team player who is able to use your own initiative and to work to strict deadlines.
