On Saturday the 15th of January the annual ‘Young Enterprise Trade Fayre’ was held. Postponed to January due the adverse weather prior to Christmas, it was a much anticipated event for ‘Pride of East Lothian.’
With a disturbingly early start to the day, three members of Knox Academy's Young Enterprise team travelled to the Apex International Hotel, Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
Competing against around 20 schools from the Lothian area, we set up a stall display stand showcasing ‘the best of East Lothian’. We were to sell our products to the general public, engaging customers with a sales patter that was friendly and welcoming. With the use of branded pop up banners and display boards, our stall stood out in an array of colour, clearly conveying our brand image.
Young Enterprise Lothian Board Members circled the large conference suite interviewing and judging teams on their product idea, sales and marketing and the quality of their display stands.
It was a great day for ‘Pride of East Lothian’ winning:
- Best Display Stand
- Best Sales and Marketing; and
- Overall Trade Fayre Winners!
We were delighted to receive so many awards and thus, are now extremely excited for the competition finale on the 24th of March at a venue to be confirmed. We hope to add one more dimension to the company to target more potential markets expanding the business model that we already have.

We would like to thank Mr Dempster, Mrs Ferguson, Mr Flood, Mr McFarlane and Robert Duncan for all the help and support they have given us so far…
